…you rupture your Achilles.
1) Bake – move over Paul Hollywood
2) Sort out your wardrobe – if you wish to pick up a item from my A/W wardrobe 2012 its now on Ebay
3) Read – I am now intimately acquainted with Amazon’s top ten list. I am now putting my focus onto the classics
4) Memorise the tv schedule – like people who memorise cards, I have memorised tv schedules. You name it I’ll know the time and channel (Freeview, Sky & Virgin)
5) Find a new job – yes I have
Hi. I am 8 days post achillies rupture and have loved reading your blog, its made me laugh out load. Many thanks, I’m off to explore bath boards on Amazon!
Micah .
Thanks Micah. Hope all goes well with your recovery. Did you have an operation?
Try Ebay for boards, I got mine there, its a life saver
No surgery, have gone for conservative management so have my foot in equinus plaster for 3 weeks (should have been 2 but its Easter weekend), then review.
I can’t find many blogs on this method, although several people I know have also opted for/been offered non surgical recovery.
It feels like a long road at the moment, but has been great to read your Bridget Jonesesque experience.
I suggest you head over to http://achillesblog.com/ There are loads of people there who are at various different stages of Achilles injuries both op and non-op. It full of really useful info and its good to read up on how other people’s recoveries are going.
